Published by Forkids Team at 12:25 pm under Business Reviews

The business of sports is by nature interdisciplinary. It can find all the major disciplines of the World of the company: management, marketing, finance, information technology, accounting, ethics, law, etc.. In The Business of Sports to get a glimpse of the different viewpoints of different players in the sector concerned. The book is divided into three sections: professional sports, Olympic sports and sports Inter. In each section deals with key issues affecting each of these sports. Furthermore there are separate chapters dealing with sociological considerations and future challenges in the sports industry for the three points marked (professional sports, Olympic sports and intercollegiate sports). Although not a detailed study of all sports in each section, with the reading of different chapters to get a general idea to understand some specific problems and their impact on other sports.

During our research for writing this book we have found that studies on the entrepreneurial aspects of the Olympics and intercollegiate sports are rare, so in both categories we have tried to highlight is its sociological aspect. Similarly, attention to the ethical aspects of the business of sports and the participation of Latinos, women or people with disabilities, is conspicuous by its absence. These deficiencies are probably the result of the relative newness of this area of study, as the first scholarly articles appeared in the’50s and management programs were initially not college sports for over 30 years. However, the lack of attention to these issues ensures the existence of studies in the future.

When we were finished the book, published appeared Moneyball (money ball) of Michael Lewis. As you know many fans of sports, this book is basically about how to succeed in the sports retail business understanding, while adopting a novel approach and addresses the issues in perspective. We hope that both the current and future leaders to take into account the facts and views reflected here, and thus have contributed in some way to enhance their personal views on the sport.
